This show was born of a desire: to share with you my experience of learning percussion. My feet guided me to India, Africa and Cuba. There my hands encountered different drums, which ultimately found themselves on the same stage. We discover the onomatopoeia of Indian tablas, the moody character of tadigenatom the African gourd, or the Brazilian tambourin — small but far from the last to make itself heard. Different instruments, different playing techniques, colours of the world that come together in a refreshing story.
This show also talks about beatbox and body percussion… imagine that you can always play rhythms, even when the instruments have decided to rest…
When she was found, she was nestled in the roots of a great Neem tree. She was named Neembati Swastyamdadati, but, to keep it short, in our story we will call her Neem. She grew up surrounded by a sister and a mother. And one fine day, she blossomed. Neem became a beautiful tree with fragrant flowers. Half woman, half tree, she stretched out her branches to embrace the sky. A prince stroked her bark, and Love served as the soil.
But even the most beautiful tree is not immune to the human sickness: jealousy.
